What’s Hot at High Point: 6 Bold Trends We’re Loving Right Now

Twice a year, the design world descends on High Point Market to explore what’s new, next, and now in furniture and interiors.

This spring’s market was bursting with color, personality, and fresh design twists that we couldn’t wait to bring back to our studio. Here are six standout trends we saw again and again—and are already dreaming up ways to use in our projects.

1. Chartreuse is Having a Moment

There’s no missing it: chartreuse is everywhere, mainly in velvet upholstery! This high-voltage hue was lighting up showrooms across High Point. We saw it paired with earthy neutrals such as dark, color drenched walls for a grounded look, or contrasted against rich plums and navy for more drama. Whether used as a statement chair or layered in with textiles and art, chartreuse added an electric energy we couldn’t ignore.

2. Mix-and-Match Chair Fabrics with a Twist

One of the freshest fabric trends we spotted? Chairs sporting different materials on the seat cushions versus the back or base—often tied together with contrasting piping. It’s a playful, unexpected way to elevate a classic silhouette. Think boucle backs paired with velvet seats, or leather bases trimmed in a patterned, bright linen welt. This trend gives designers more room for creativity, and the results feel custom and couture.

3. Funky Silhouettes for Benches and Banquettes

Say goodbye to basic benches. This season, it’s all about furniture pieces that surprise and delight with unusual shapes. We saw wave-like contours, exaggerated curves, floating cushions, and asymmetrical backs that made each bench or banquette feel like a sculptural work of art. These funky forms add movement and softness to spaces—and they make the perfect statement piece in an entryway, dining nook, or foot of the bed.

4. Plum Perfection: From Fabrics to Walls

Deep plum and wine hues brought a moody sophistication to both upholstery and wall finishes this market. Plum velvets looked luxe and cozy on sofas and headboards, while rich eggplant tones were used to stunning effect in painted paneling, tile, and accent walls. These colors pair beautifully with brass, warm woods, and even chartreuse (see trend #1!) for a layered and dramatic palette.

5. A BOLD BAR STATEMENT

Bar cabinets are made a bold statement this year at High Point Market, emerging as both a functional staple and a stylish centerpiece in today’s interiors. Designers are embracing them not just for entertaining, but as a way to add sophistication and structure to living and dining spaces. From vintage-inspired silhouettes to sleek modern finishes, the bar cabinet trend is all about merging storage with statement design—offering clients a perfect blend of utility and luxe appeal.

6. Details That Matter: Contrast Piping & Fringe

From chairs to ottomans, contrast piping and fringe was everywhere—and we’re all in. This small detail makes a big impact, whether it’s used to outline a bold shape or bring in a hit of color. It also nods to old-school upholstery techniques while feeling fresh and intentional. Expect to see more of this crisp, tailored detail in our upcoming projects

Final Thoughts

High Point Spring 2025 felt like a celebration of color, texture, and daring design. The common thread? A willingness to take risks, break the rules, and infuse spaces with personality. We left buzzing with inspiration—and we can’t wait to bring some of these trends into our clients’ homes.
